"Hurry Up & Wait" by Ty Ellender

Hurry Up & Wait is an advanced marimba solo that features rapid permutations and rhythmic melodic lines. Most of the musical phrases are in groups of seven, creating a repetitive off-kilter groove throughout. The middle section of this piece consists of long dynamic rolls accompanied by thoughtful melodies in the upper voice. Hurry Up & Wait was written and performed in 2022 for my first solo doctoral recital.
